£ By dividing the daily ration of SPECIFIC TM FSW Struvite Dissolution into 3 or 4 meals, any postprandial increase of urinary pH is minimised.

£ Urolithiasis due to calcium oxalate, ammonium urate or cystine £ Simultaneous administration of urinary acidifiers £ Metabolic or renal acidosis £ Heart failure, hypertension and oedema £ Kittens and pregnant or lactating queens INGREDIENTS Pork, fish, maize, sunflower oil, egg powder, minerals, fish oil, vitamins and trace elements (including chelated trace elements), ammonium sulphate, cellulose powder, psyllium, dextrose, xylose, ammonium chloride, taurine. Contains no added artificial colours or flavourings. FEEDING GUIDE IN GRAMS PER DAY The daily individual requirement may vary depending on factors such as breed, environment, season, activity etc. It is therefore advisable to continue monitoring condition and body weight, adjusting the amount fed accordingly.

£ After the dissolution of the struvite uroliths (usually after about 1 to 2 months), the diet should be changed to SPECIFIC TM FCD/ FCW/FCW-P Crystal Management or SPECIFIC TM FCD-L Crystal Management Light to reduce recurrence. £ In cats with recurrent struvite urolithiasis, the use of wet diets is preferable because cats fed on wet diets ingest more water, resulting in higher urine volume, lower urinary mineral concentrations and increased urinary frequency. £ Although magnesium ammonium phosphate (struvite) urolithiasis is a common condition in cats, it cannot be assumed to be the cause of all cases of urolithiasis. Identification of the type of urolith is essential because the different types may require different dietary strategies (see the Managing Urolithiasis chart under Technical information on SPECIFIC TM ).
