£ Endocrine disorders are typically seen in middle-aged or senior dogs. SPECIFIC TM CED-DM Endocrine Support is formulated to sup port the nutrient requirement of elderly dogs. This diet has a mod erate energy density for optimal weight management. Moderate levels of phosphorus and sodium can support the kidney func tion, and added taurine and L-carnitine can support the heart function in elderly dogs. £ The increased soluble and insoluble fibre content in SPECIFIC TM CED-DM Endocrine Support supports gastrointestinal motility and a healthy gastrointestinal tract. £ The diet contains psyllium husk , a gel-forming soluble fibre, which is known for its beneficial effect on the regulation of the gastroin testinal tract activity. £ The skin has an active metabolism and a high demand for several skin-related nutrients. The increased levels of vitamins A, E and B complex, zinc and selenium support a healthy skin and coat in dogs with endocrine disorders. £ With most regimens for the management of diabetes, it is recom mended that the ration be given in two meals. The timing of the meals will normally be determined by the activity of the insulin in the individual patient. £ It should be noted that dogs with diabetes mellitus, which are switched to SPECIFIC™ CED-DM Endocrine Support, may have a reduced need for insulin. It is therefore recommended to monitor blood glucose levels, water intake, presence of clinical signs and insulin dose. £ In case dog owners want to treat or reward their diabetic dog, it is recommended to use SPECIFIC TM CT-H(M) Healthy Treats (Mini), CT SC Special Care Treats or CT-BIO Organic Treats. £ SPECIFIC TM CED-DM Endocrine Support is specially packed in protective atmosphere to protect the uniquely high levels of EPA and DHA.
